The troll and the fairy

The stream runs quietly down to the sea from the bush clad hills of the Centennial Memorial Park.
The waters are flanked by wild flowers
and under the bridge lives a troll
who has to be appeased with feasts of fish, chocolate drink, and soup, all gathered from the edges of the stream.
Yes, the bach fairy has come to visit, and she knows all about such things. She even makes 'berries' for the troll by tying knots in pieces of reed. Whenever a car approaches and the troll booms out 'Pass', she squeals with delight as the car rumbles overhead.
The stream itself has its own magic. 'Look granny, I can see the sand swimming.'
We two are together in my favourite place. The mist has cleared, the sun is out, and playtime has begun.

Nice pictures.

Lovely to be in your favourite place where the mist has cleared, the sun is out.

Oooh it's winter here in Holland and in your country it is lovely weather. I'm a little jealous.

Enjoy it!

Happy Summery Season Juliet! I have been missing from blogger for so long.. and your magic story was a lovely way back! You will have a wonderful Christmas with your sweet fairy, no doubt.

* Diana, your turn will come. I enjoy feeling the polarities when my northern hemisphere blog friends visit. It's summer solstice today, the turning point, so the sun is starting its journey towards you.

* Joan, welcome back! I've missed you. I can see why you would relate to this post, having some fairies of your own in your life.

Thank you, Diana and Joan.

"Who's that walking on my bridge. Trip, trap, trip, trap on my bridge"

That song still gets sung here when we cross a clattery bridge Juliet, despite everyone being grown up!

Imaginations and happy memories reach over the years. How special to be creating these with your fairy.

I'm glad the weather has improved and you can be outside enjoying the summer. What a tranquil and special place to be xx

How gentle the mist was over the hills and I love the troll who lives under the bridge! Such a lovely place in which to unwind and relax. So different in temperature to England but today the sun shone and the countryside is full of soft gentle colours of winter with brown fields all patterned with plough lines and the filagree trees with bare branches standing out against the palest of blue skies. The trout rivers are running faster and more furiously than normal. I doubt it will be a white Christmas here in Hampshire!

"Look granny, I can see the sand swimming." and she can. Isn't that amazing? It would make a wonderful opening to a children's book, as would the amazing adventures of the beach fairy and her granny.

Loved this, Juliet.

* Lynley, I was trying to remember those very words! thank you.

* Charlie, it certainly is peaceful here, especially the week before Christmas. No crowds at the beach just yet, and the stream is all ours. PS I can't see your blog at present because of being on dialup

* Anne, how nice to see you here. You paint a beautiful word picture of your English landscape.

* Penny, that was a great line for sure. Maybe one day a book will emerge. Who knows . . .

Thank you Lynley, Charlie, Anne, and Penny.
