Equinox eggs

Happy spring equinox!  Light and dark are equal today, in balance.
Out at the bach, bluebells are flowering and the hen and chickens ferns are covered in tiny 'chicks'.
The light will now increase until summer solstice. Today after days of rain and storms, with snow on the Desert Road, the air has cleared and the sun is shining.
Memories are surfacing from the quiet earth with these bluebells.  They came from my father's garden and have been invisibly multiplying under the surface of the ground, year after year. Every spring they rise up and ring their bells, with a soothing blue sound. They surprise me, and bring back happy memories of my dad.
Equinox is the season of rejoicing and regeneration.
To those of you in the northern hemisphere, we are especially connected on this day, because our nights and days are the same length. Then we will begin our separate journeys, yours into darkness and ours into increasing light.
Happy equinox, wherever you are. May you find balance and delight in nature on this day.

As our days shorten here, I will keep in my heart your image of your bluebells, multiplying, and waiting to "ring their bells". That is such a lovely, evocative paragraph, among all your others, Juliet, and a tender reminder of your father. My dear blogging friend, I wish you all the rejoicing and regenerating and peace the season will provide.

Hi Juliet - it's good we meet twice a year at least! Though I could do without the autumnal approach .. still we've had a good summer ...

Beautiful photos .. and I love bluebells and the bluebell woods ...

Happy spring coming ... lots of life coming out to play again ... cheers Hilary

* Penny, thank you for joining in the celebration. Today the sun is shining still, and the weather is warmer, and your good wishes are ringing along with the bluebells.
* Hilary, yes it's our meeting time. I hope you still get some little tastes of Indian summer as we bounce along into spring.

Thank you Penny, and Hilary, good to see you both.

I didn't realise we've just had the equinox. It's lovely to know that for one day, we are one with those in the Northern Hemisphere. The bluebells are stunning and how lovely that they become more abundant with each new season and how special that they are a lovely reminder of your father xx

* Charlie, it's good news for us to have passed spring equinox. I hope you have some sunny days to cheer you up. I'm enjoying the bluebells still; that's the great thing about bulbs, there are always more of them. Thanks.

Hi Juliet, happy spring!
You decorated the eggs very creatively.
When we have spring here I will to do the same!

Thanks Nadezda; I'll look forward to seeing your eggs in 6 months time.

I love bluebells - and have only a few. Thank you for the reminder -- I think I'll order some bulbs.

Have you tried balancing egges? My mother in law could always manage to stand a row of raw eggs on end -- but only on the equinoxes.

I love the concept of our worlds in balance for a brief moment.

Vicki, balancing eggs sounds like fun. I've never done it. Will have to wait for the next equinox. Thank you.

I love the memories of other times and places and people that plants hold for us.
