Singing of green

In the northern hemisphere, you are on the threshold of Halloween, and on the east coast of America, you are being lashed with fierce storms. Here it is Beltane, the season of peak green, the spring festival. The sun is shining and the leaves are frothing from the trees,
blossom abounds, sprouting from the barest of stumps,
and then there are the delicate leaves,
that cast shadows as if they were Japanese ink drawings.
The season of hope has arrived,
and the ti, or cabbage trees are blooming profusely, a sign, according to Maori, of a warm summer to come.
Blessings and prayers to all whose shelter is threatened by the fierce storms of the east coast of America.

Beautiful springtime, Juliet.
Our east coast is getting a thrashing for sure. Even our Lake Michigan has been sending up 10 foot waves.

I hope the signs are right and that it is a warm summer to come. I can't wait for the summer holiday we have planned for just after Christmas. I love the image of the blossoms - the colours are just amazing xx

* Hilary, thank you, and a great summer would be wonderful!

* Penny, that sounds so dramatic with 10 foot waves on Lake Michigan. I hope you stay warm.

* Charlie, yes wouldn't it be fantastic to have a good summer. The forecasters, as well as the cabbage trees, are saying that it's a possibility.

Thank you, Hilary, Penny and Charlie for your comments.

Beautiful photos! I've been obsessed with autumn leaves recently--spring green or autumn yellow, they're all spectacular back lit by the sun!

Vicki, thank you. I too enjoy leaves of all kinds when they are lit up by the sun. Nice to see your autumn leaves as ours are so green; it gives me a sense of our opposite seasons.
